Description of Steve The Dung Beetle: On A Roll
Review One Of The Cutest Informative Picture Books I've Read. Reviewed by Gail Kamer for Readers' Favorite FIVE STAR REVIEW Hey, Steve! Why are you rolling that ball of poo? different animals ask Steve in the adorable book, Steve the Dung Beetle on a Roll bySusan R. Stoltz. This line is repeated throughout the book, rewritten in different ways, making the information fun and enjoyable.Steve's answers are short and to the point. Why do dung beetles roll poo? How does he know where he's going? Why does he use his back legs? How does he help improve the environment? Why does a dung beetle do what he does anyway? Steve the Dung Beetle on a Roll by Susan R. Stoltz is one of the cutest informative picture books I've read. The question and answer format gives the book a casual atmosphere for what could be just a boring bunch of information. In addition, the illustrations by MelissaBailey add much to the storyline and are beautiful to boot! The page where Steve doesn't have time to stop and talk to certain animals is shared in cute artwork. Great discussion items for adults while sharing the book with young listeners. The information at the end of the book provided by C. Drew Foster at the Phoenix Zoo is a great addition. Meeting Steve's friends is another creative way to share information. However, I so loved the Dung Beetle Jokes! I can see Steve the Dung Beetle on a Roll being a favorite of kids and adults alike. Steve's story should be on all parents and teachers' book lists to share with youngsters. --Readers Favorite 5 Star Review Read more About the Author Susan Stoltz has had many writing opportunities throughout her varied career including journalism, editing, autobiography, short story, newsletter and magazine publishing, and children's books.
