Description of Going to Disneyland: A Guide for Kids and Kids at Heart
Review 'No matter which page you see, so much to giggle with, and to learn new stuff you never knew you'd need to know. And all with such charming text and drawings too. More than any Disneyland book I ever recall looking at, yours has therealcharm and joy that Walt had in mind while creating his magical place for all the world.Going to Disneylandand Disneyland are a perfect match for each other, that's for sure.'- Bob Gurr, Former Imagineer & Disney Legend.'There aren't enough adjectives to describe this incredibly creative book, designed by a fantastically creative artist. For starters, it's UNIQUE, IMAGINATIVE, WHIMSICAL, EDUCATIONAL, CHILDLIKE, THOUGHT PROVOKING, INTERESTING, DELIGHTFUL, and obviously, a labor of love. It's a wonderful 'memory' book for any and all that visit Disneyland. What more can I say - I LOVE IT!!!'- Rolly Crump, Former Imagineer & Disney Legend Read more From the Author When my oldest son was seven, we were planning a trip to Disneyland. Iheaded to the kids' section of the old Lafayette library to get him aguidebook for kids about the park and was so surprised to find out thatthey didn't have any! Not only that but, when I looked into it further, I couldn't find any at all. Sure, there were guidebooks about how to goto Disneyland WITH kids but nothing FOR kids. Being an illustrator, graphic designer, writer and Disney devotee, I knew I had my nextproject. As I was writing the book, a fellow Disney fan sharedan interesting theory with me. She said that if you go to Disneyland as a child, you will always have a magical feeling about it--and if you gofor your first time as an adult, you'll never quite understand what allthe fuss is about. I was three when I first visited Disneyland and mymost vivid memory was being absolutely thrilled riding Pirates of theCaribbean. I thought the pirates were really firing cannons over our heads! To me, Disneyland is the most special Disney park--not only because Iwent there when I was young but because it's the one Walt Disney himself created. He was so successful because he never lost that sense ofwonder about the world that every child has. It's so cool that we canvisit Disneyland, walk in his footsteps, experience the things hehimself oversaw and recapture that wondrous joy of childhood that heknew so well. If you are giving this book to a child, I hope itenhances their visit--and yours--and helps them enjoy a lifelong, nostalgic glow each time they return to the park. If you're an adultreader with no kids in sight, I warmly welcome you! I hope you enjoythis book--and Disneyland--just as much as the kids do. Have a magicaltime!xoxo,Shannon Read more See all Editorial Reviews
